"One of the most asked questions that I get as an Artist is 'How did you learn to paint?'. I'd have to credit part of my talent to genetics. There is certainly an artistic line in my family, and my Great Grandfather in World War 1 would decorate his letters home with pen and ink drawings. I also studied A-Level Art which I'm pleased to say I passed. This encouraged me to experiment with different media from silk screen prints and etching to acrylic painting."
"I was never taught the use of oil paints, so in this field I suppose I'm self taught. In answer to the question part of my ability is in the blood, part educated but the largest part is practice and experience."
"From Landscapes I moved onto experimenting with contemporary portraitures. It was at this point that my artistic talents were recognized and started to receive public acclaim. A gallery in the North East of England took pieces of my work to the Affordable Art Fair at Bristol, and later onto Battersea, London. What started as a hobby was now being viewed as a talent and people were requesting commissions. This lead me to my first solo exhibition which was held at Sunderland Winter Gardens, a great personal achievement."
"I continue to experiment with different styles from contemporary portraitures, to landscapes to wildlife. I don't want to be pigeon holed into a set category. I will always paint what feels right to me."
